I designed and developed this puzzle-platformer game during the Videogame Design and Programming course at the Politecnico di Milano. In this game, you control a robot trying to escape from a giant factory. In each level, you find action cards that, when equipped, grant you new abilities, such as jumping or moving objects. The only catch is that the robot can equip a maximum of two action cards at a time—if both slots are full, you must discard one to make space for the new one.
It was my first project using the Unity game engine, but it was also an incredibly formative experience, as it gave me the opportunity to develop my own concept and lead a team of four people. This experience taught me a lot about organizing work for a team of developers, not just for myself, as well as trusting my teammates and making critical decisions.
As a game designer, I defined the game’s core mechanics, including the available actions and interactive objects. I also designed some of the levels and wrote the dialogues.
As a programmer, I implemented the main character controls and some interactive objects.
A prototype of the game was delivered as the final assignment for the course. The game is no longer in development.
